"The Burning Tree"

Once there was a beautiful and unique forest. One side of it was occupied with trees having saffron colored leaves. The other side by trees having green colored leaves. At the center was the most beautiful of them all. A unique tree with intermix of both green and saffron side by side intertwined amongst themselves. It caught the sight of whoever crossed the forest.

People adored it's beauty and claimed it to be one of it's kind in the world.

The tree would boast of it's plurality and would dance to the winds. The saffron and geeen leaves would hug each other in times of scorching heat, stormy rains and fiery lightnings.

The story of this tree reached The Evil Crow of the Barren Land. The evil crow couldn't withstand this. He schemed and flew to the forest with evil intentions.
On reaching the forest he sat besides a green leaf. He whispered 'Alas! I pity you O green leaf! For you are just an ordinary leaf. The secret of beauty lies with the saffron leaf. It knows how to make saffron color from sunlight and never told you!"
That made the green leaf think. The evil crow had done it's job. The news spread to all green leaves. That night they kept thinking about what the crow said. It was a stormy night. The green leaves forgot to hug the saffron leaves, due to which many saffron leaves died and were shed.

The next morning the evil crow came again. He whispered to the saffron leaves, "Oh such a pity! The green leaves were jealous of your beauty and in a greed to take over the tree cut many of you off. See how their population is growing and your reducing."
The saffron leaves believed the crow. They were agitated. They began to hate the green leaves. Slowly each saffron leaf garnered hatred and a sense of revenge for green leaves.

The coming night a bad storm came. There were thunders everywhere. The saffron leaves decided to take revenge. As soon as the lightning struck the saffron leaves pulled themselves together and presented the green leaves to lightning. The green leaves were set on fire. All the saffron leaves rejoiced. They had fulfilled their vengeance.

Little did they realize that the fire doesn't discriminate. In a matter of hours the entire tree was burnt to ashes. As the evil crow sat over the ashes, he smiled celebrating his accomplishment. He had won.

But he didn't stop there. He flew over to neighboring trees. He told the green leaved trees about the injustice inflicted by saffron leaves and the martyrdom of green leaves. Similarly he told the saffron leaved trees about the valor of saffron leaves and their sacrifices to save the "saffron color".
In no time the news spread like wildfire and after sometime quite literally turned into a wildfire. The entire forest was burned down to ashes in no time.

The crow stood at a distance watching the forest burn. He exclaimed "Death to you who cannot trust each other. Rightful death to you as you let a stranger misguide you. Let these ashes bear witness that whenever there'll be prosperity I'll come to burn it down."

As he flew by a seed on the ground smiled and said "I'll ride from the darkness of ashes and prove you wrong crow!"
